Starshine Glitz Pageant Rules

1. All contestants are winners from the beginning and because of this everyone starts with a perfect score.

2. I want all contestants to be a glitz total package (hair, tan, nails, makeup, attire, modeling). Contestants will be scored on facial beauty, poise/personality, overall appearance, stage presence/modeling. Hairpieces, fake nails, flippers, fake eyelashes, spray tans glitz modeling and glitz attire are allowed. Flippers are not required, but they are welcome.

3. 0-4 year olds are not to be judged on modeling, more on personality and they way they project on stage.

4. 5 years and up should be considered the same way, but modeling will be judged and they must be able to do so on their own.

5. Starshine is all about the contestants, so please keep in mind they are on stage doing their best and should be watched the entire time they are performing. I will give judges plenty of time to score each contestant. I do ask the judges to smile and make eye contact to each contestant.

6. Do not take off for bumps, bruises, scars, birthmarks, or missing teeth. Flippers are allowed and please do not take off if they wear a flipper (unless it is overpowering) or if they do not wear a flipper.

7. Beauty scores are compiled of 4 categories: facial beauty, poise/personality, overall appearance, and stage presence/modeling.

8. There will be a line up for beauty only. All contestants are to be scored on their individual performance that day.

9. This is a full glitz system. Beauty dresses can be baby doll dresses or pageant dresses. Contestants 9 years and under should wear short dresses. I do not care who the designed the attire. I just ask that it fits well, flatters the contestant, the color is good for skin tone, and is in date. In the beauty category, it must be full glitz beauty dress

10. Casual Wear is a creative, trendy-type outfit that can be off the rack or custom made. Modeling in Casual Wear modeling and should be prissy walk, full of personality and upbeat. Contestants can bring their own music for this category.

11. In Pro-Am or Super Model the modeling with gymnastics or major tricks can be used and encouraged. Contestants can bring their own music for this category.

12. Outfit of choice is cored on stage presence/showmanship, personality and modeling/technique. This is usually custom made and glitz.

13. Please place your check marks in appropriate boxes for that contestant. There will be a box for needs improvement, good and excellent. If you have a short comment other than the check marks, please make it short. Other contestants are waiting back stage to show their stuff!

14. I will not tolerate any low-balling in scores and the auditor will notify me ASAP when noticed. The pageant will then take a break and the problem will be dealt with at this time. Everyone deserves the same respect and should be scored on their ability. I don’t expect any of you will do this, but wanted to give you the heads up.

15. It is necessary to stay until after the crowning and answer any questions the parents may have. There should be constructive criticism given if needed and of course praise where applicable. If there is any bad sportsmanship, rudeness or profanity of ANY KIND, FIND ME IMMEDIATELY! This will not be tolerated and you are not responsible to handle this, I am.

16. The MOST IMPORTANT point I have, is to be honest and fair. Starshine is an Equal Opportunity pageant system. Race, handicap, religion or nationality is not to be discriminated against. Also, no reverse discrimination.
